About the President
Deborah L. Ward, President of the Canadian Legal Resource Centre Inc., is Canada's Canadian Pardon and United States Waiver Specialist. She has worked in the paralegal industry since 1987 processing over 4000 successful Canadian Pardon and United States Waiver of Inadmissibility applications.
In addition, Deborah has assisted Canadians with over 1800 uncontested divorces and legal separation agreements. She also assists with pre-marital and cohabitation agreements. Deborah's non-adversarial and simple approach to the uncontested divorce and legal agreements saves her clients hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of dollars in legal fees and protects them from unnecessary grief.
She is a Bachelor of Commerce degree graduate (B. Comm., concentration in Marketing), and a graduate of the Professional Legal Assistant diploma program (Career College) and Legal Assistant diploma program with honours (ICS), and Immigration Practitioner Diploma (Bow Valley College). In addition, she is an authorized fingerprinting agent for the RCMP "K" Division and has her Commissioner for Oaths appointment.
On a more personal note, Deborah was involved with Toastmasters International for 8 years. While in Toastmasters, she achieved her CTM designation, held a variety of elected positions (President, VP Education, VP Public Relations), and was appointed Area Governor, and of course, Past President. Debbie also completed the Dale Carnegie Course "Effective COmmunications and Human Relations".
She also is Canada's 2000 and 2001 Powerlifting champion for the women's 52 kg weight category with the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU). She holds 3 out of 4 Canadian Records with the CPU. In 2002 she competed in the Canadian Powerlifting Council (CPC) Canadian Championships where she set 4/4 Canadian Records, won her 52 kg weight class, broke a sub-master World Record (deadlift 363 lbs), and took best overall 'Open' female lifter. In October 2001 Debbie also competed in and won the Western Canadian Natural Bodybuilding Championships (light weight). Debbie is a drug free lifter. After a three-year absence from competitive sports, she was back at it again. In 2005 she competed in and won 1st place in the Master's Category bodybuilding competition with WNSO (World Natural Sports Organization).
Previously, Debbie sang in the Westwinds Music Society Choirs for 2 years. Debbie has been singing with the Margaret George-Hahle Academy for the past 8 years. Singing does not come to Debbie as naturally as powerlifting or weightlifting. She is hoping one day to complete grade 2 voice and maybe summons up enought courage to sing a solo piece.
