Digital prints, as of the date of this memo, can take as few as 1 to 4 weeks to be processed. Digital Fingerprinting for criminal record background checks is the preferred method
Ink & Roll
You may also elect the cheaper method - Ink & Roll. However, the RCMP is currently taking 2 to 3 months to process ink fingerprints. Processing times fluctuate. And, if you have poor quality fingerprints, processing times may be longer than stated above.
For applicants that must request a criminal record background check for countries other than Canada or for a Legal Name Check, we will provide you with INK & ROLL fingerprinting services.
24 Hour Name Checks
Name Checks are a quick, cost effective alternative to fingerprint based screening, but it is up to you to determine the possible risk that you may not really be certain of an individual's identity. Name checks have been common practice for years as a quick way of screening that a known individual does not have a criminal record.
An individual's name and date of birth are compared against the RCMP's database of convicted criminals to search for a match. In the event of a possible match you will be required to submit fingerprints to be certain that the individual you are sreening is/or is not the one found in the criminal history database.
It is simple to do a Name Check, simply fax the information of the individual, along with a signed consent form to us and we will do the rest. A result will be mailed to you within 24 hours.

8 am to 5 pm - Monday through Friday
9 am to 4 pm - Saturday
Occasional evening appointments are also available.
*To secure a set time, please call 403-229-2774 ext 3 to book your appointment. Walk-ins are always welcome. however, scheduled appointments are always served first. You do not need to attend our office for a name check, unless your name is a possible match with a criminal record.
Fees*
Digital Fingerprinting: $50 (our fee) + $25 RCMP fee** 9if applicable, see below) + GST
Name Check: $40 (our fee) +GST
Ink & Roll: $30 (our fee) + $25 RCMP fee** (if applicable, see below) +GST
*Note: fee above are for your first set. Save $10 per additional set of fingerprints (per person only).
**The following searches do NOT have an RCMP fee:
- Citizenship
- Employment (Federal)
- Employment (Police)
- Landed Immigrant Status
- National Sex Offender Registry
- privacy Requests (ie. for Pardoned Criminal Record) Volunteer Employment

Identification Required
You are required to bring to the appointment (a) 2 Photographic ID; or (b) 1 Photographic ID and 1 Government ID.
Photographic ID: Provincial Drivers' License, Passport, Citizenship Card, Firearms Acquisition Certificate or Permanent Resident Card.
Government ID (no photo): Alberta Health Care Card, Birth Certificate, Social Insurance Card.
